39543: Encoder: HIPERFACE: Status: Multiturn amplitude fault (21h)

Info: Encoder
Data type: USINT

Description:
This status is reported by the HIPERFACEŽ encoder. More information can be found in the data sheet or HIPERFACEŽ encoder specification.
Excerpt from the HIPERFACEŽ specification:
The "Multiturn amplitude fault" is used for rotary encoders and indicates that the HIPERFACEŽ slave detected invalid multiturn sensor signal amplitude. An error indication will be output.
Potential reasons for this fault include magnetic disturbances, defects of multiturn sensors or loss of multiturn magnets.
In new and future HIPERFACEŽ slaves, this fault is also used for indication of faults in multiturn parameters stored in nonvolatile memory.
In this case, the fault will be stored in the error stack along with the "Internal checksum error" (see error number 39516).
NOTE: Some legacy HIPERFACEŽ slaves transmit this condition with the warning bit.

Reaction:
None

Cause/Remedy:
See encoder data sheet or HIPERFACEŽ specification.
