[TEA5] Safe Toggle Release Function

1. Overview

Its primary purpose is to prevent Overcurrent Alarms and subsequent motor shutdowns that can occur when the servo motor maintains high torque for an extended period during tonnage build-up. By automatically managing the movement to the Zero Tonnage Point, the system eliminates the risk of a “Free-run” situation—where the mold opens uncontrollably due to stored mechanical energy after a motor power-off.

2. Operational Logic

  • Safe Toggle Release
    • During Tonnage Build-up: If the button is released while clamping force is increasing, the system will not hold the current high-pressure state. Instead, it will automatically Retract to the Zero Tonnage Point to safely dissipate the stored tension.
    • During Tonnage Release: Even if the button is released while clamping force is releasing, the machine ensures a minimum movement to at least the Zero Tonnage Point, guaranteeing that the toggle is fully released from its high-tension state.
    • The system executes the release at a fixed speed of 100 mm/s, utilizing up to the motor’s Maximum Torque to ensure a reliable return to the Zero Tonnage Point.
  • Soft startup from released position
    • To ensure seamless operation after a release, the system manages the restart acceleration:
    • Reduced Acceleration: When resuming “Mold Open” or “Mold Close” from an intermediate position, the system starts at 20% of the standard Mold Open acceleration.
    • Alarm Prevention: This prevents the Acceleration Torque from exceeding the Mold Protection Alarm threshold. It ensures that the machine can resume motion safely without triggering false alarms caused by sudden torque spikes.
